Bring YURLU | COUNTRY into the Classroom This NAIDOC Week

To celebrate NAIDOC Week, we’re proud to launch a new YURLU | COUNTRY educational lesson, developed in collaboration with the Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (BNTAC) and Illuminate Films.

Available free for teachers, the lesson explores the history of asbestos mining at Wittenoom and important themes of legacy, environmental racism and activism, encouraging students to engage with the powerful story of YURLU | COUNTRY and its ongoing relevance today.

Mapped to the Australian Curriculum for Years 7–10, the resource provides educators with meaningful, curriculum-linked content to support classroom learning during NAIDOC Week and beyond.

This is the first in a series of educational resources inspired by YURLU | COUNTRY, with more lessons and learning materials to be released in the coming months.
